Was UK Police Officer knifed to death during Parliament terrorist attack Armed?

Was the officer knifed to death by a terrorist outside the British Parliament building today armed.  As of this time, we have no answer to this question.  We can be sure of only one thing, it's a safe bet he had his whistle.  I wonder if the BBC and other British media outlets will ever reveal the truth.  For a long time the Brits have had a history of having their officers go unarmed--well they are allowed a whistle and billy club.  But in this modern day of terrorist attacks has the government there insisted on keeping many unarmed, thereby making them a prime target for some Islamic Terrorist.  We will wait to see if any media source will attempt to find an answer to this question.  And do the right thing, by providing that information to the public.
